Don DeVoe hired Lockwood as part of his staff in 1986, and Lockwood was retained on staff when Wade Houston took over as head coach in 1989. Hyams says Lockwood has “nothing but gratitude” for his time at Tennessee, and he has “other opportunities” he can pursue elsewhere. According to longtime Knoxville reporter Jimmy Hyams, Harper has elected not to retain Dean Lockwood on her staff at Tennessee. Warlick, who played for legendary coach Pat Summitt from 1976-80, joined the staff at UT in 1985. Lockwood has been on staff at Tennessee since 2004. Said he has other opportunities.
