If you're a connoisseur of ghost stories - as I am - you've probably come across variants on this story before, but the version in this book is my gold standard in terms of creepiness, and - much like "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (a version of which is also printed in here) - leaves open the possibility that it may all be an elaborate prank. I'd recommend that your elementary school's library get more than one copy. I smiled the entire time I was reading. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
